THE HUM
“Daniel Riley proves yet again that he was the perfect choice for the new Artistic Director of Australian Dance Theatre”
THE HUM is centred upon the tangible yet invisible creative connection between performers, orchestra and audience.
Creating a shared physical resonance that reaches out through the proscenium into the audience and back onto the stage, THE HUM speaks to our identity as a collective and our connection to country – stripping everything away until only the body, the physical sensation is left.
THE HUM forges new relationships and develops a shared physicality, exploding with future-focussed visions that hold ancient wisdom and stories at their core.

“It’s one of the most outstanding dance scores by a living composer I’ve heard: drama-filled, melodic and showcasing a mastery of musical structure and storytelling.”
